RER A – END OF SEVEN YEARS OF SUMMER WORKS

Since 2015, every summer the RERA has experienced traffic interruptions between the La Défense and Auber stations to renew the RERA tracks and ballast. Since 2015, twenty-four kilometers of track have been renewed and twenty-eight switches replaced between Nanterre Préfecture and Vincennes. This operation was complex but imperative, to guarantee the safety of the 1.4 million travelers per day. This vast program is already ensuring good results with better regularity of the line, which has increased from 85% to 95% in mid-2021. The modernization of this line, with the automatic control of trains on the central section for a few years and the arrival of a new single command center in Vincennes (2023), contribute to strengthening the robustness of this line. This year, the RATP will devote around €2.2 billion in investments to modernizing its network, its infrastructure and the extension of certain lines.
