SUMMARY REPORT OF THE COURT OF AUDITORS – THE QUALITY OF SERVICE OF THE REGIONAL EXPRESS NETWORK IN ILE-DE-FRANCE

The Court of Auditors published on October 18, 2023, its report on the quality of service in the RER, used by four million people every day. This report highlights three major concerns: an increase in attendance due to densification in IDF with operating and ticketing data that does not represent reality, a very insufficient punctuality rate and an increase in traffic which accentuates disruptions. . The report highlights the very significant effort made to renew rolling stock but deplores "late and insufficient investments in infrastructure". The Court of Auditors suggests establishing a contract between IDF Mobility and the SNCF network to “implement specific performance indicators associated with financial accountability for the latter”.
