CREATION OF THE ASSOCIATION OF DEPARTMENTS OF ILE DE FRANCE (ADIF)

On September 15, 2023, the seven presidents of the departments of the IdF region formalized the creation of the Association of Ile-de-France Departments (ADIF). The latter wish to convey the voice and specificities of the Ile-de-France region which represents 10 million inhabitants. “ There is a big difference between the problems in Ile-de-France and those of other French departments. And these are essential differences in discussions with the State,” recalls Pierre BEDIER, president of Adif. This association will be complementary to the ADF (the Assembly of French Departments). For the seven presidents, the current organization of the Ile-de-France metropolis is not satisfactory and does not make it possible to respond to the region's major challenges in terms of: transport, housing, ecological transition, land use planning, etc. “In continuation of a dynamic of cooperation initiated in 2019 with the creation of the Interdepartmental Solidarity and Investment Fund (FS2i), we are coming together to defend better consideration of departmental reality in the organization of Greater Paris and more generally in debates on decentralization” specifies Georges SIFFREDI.
