EXTENSION OF THE RER E – EOLE FROM MAY 6, 2024 TO NANTERRE

The gigantic EOLE project remains exceptional in its technical and operational complexity. For more than eight years, it went through numerous hazards linked to the nature of the soil, the complexity of the infrastructures (the 3 stations of Porte Maillot and CNIT in La Défense) etc… The first trains from Haussmann station- Saint-Lazare to Nanterre La Folie, will arrive from May 6, 2024 and the three new stations (Porte Maillot, La Défense, Nanterre La Folie), will open to the public on this date. Traffic in the first phase (on this new section) will be off-peak between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. (4 trains/hour). For the moment, these will be “rail shuttles” which will only serve the stations between Nanterre and Magenta. This delay is explained by a delay in the delivery of rolling stock. Only 14 trainsets out of 34 trainsets were delivered . The line should be able to offer a full service by the end of 2024. Time for the 34 new generation trains to complete their running-in. The extension to Mantois should be completed in 2026.
